I have been told that you have to clean others people energy off a crystal after I buy it. Do I really have to do this and if so, how?

At times it may be appropriate to clear crystals of other peoples negative energy.  It can be a very simply process.  Simplicity and intention are the keys.  One very effective and simple method is to hold the crystal in your hand and see it as clearing of any energy that is not for your highest good and then use your breathe to blow away any residue.  Let your intention be your guide.
