I know very little about the different properties of crystals. Do I need to read about them before I can select a crystal?

No. Anyone can choose a crystal for themselves. One way is to stand in front of the crystals and ask for guidance to select the most appropriate crystal, clearing your mind of other thoughts. Now allow your attention to be drawn to a crystal that may catch your attention - it may be the colour that attracts you, or the shape. You may want to pick a crystal up and hold it to feel the energy of it. Even if it is one that you are drawn to immediately, if you follow these simple steps then trust yourself enough to know you have made the right choice.
